Packaging and shipping paintings to Europe

Recently, we sent two packages to Poland and were pleasantly surprised to find out about a 75% discount at Ukrposhta.

For us and our clients, this was great news. 

The paintings were medium-sized (70 x 70 cm), weighed 8 kg, and even such large packages qualified for the discount. Overall, the shipping cost amounted to 337 UAH.

We prepared the documents for exporting the paintings (art historian expertise) within one day with a certified state expert.

We wrapped the paintings in bubble wrap.

We made a cardboard box for shipping, placed the paintings inside, and added foam sheets around the edges for extra protection.

We added cardboard corners on each edge to create a frame (rigid edges). This structure can withstand most impacts, falls, and ensure the painting is safe during delivery.

Most of the transportation process involves automated lines, so it is crucial to pay attention to the box's exterior. It should not have any unnecessary elements that could catch on machinery.

For the shipping personnel, we always attach a "Fragile" and "This Side Up" sticker to ensure extra careful handling.
