Delivery of porcelain sculpture to Austria

We recently received an order to transport a porcelain sculpture from Kiev to Austria. We were told beforehand that the sculpture is made of porcelain and has a height of 120 cm. Even when you hear about a sculpture of small size - 10-20 cm you start to worry. The point of this material is to be difficult to work with, to be fragile in life and at the same time give the viewer extraordinary brilliance and beauty.

Video about how we organized the shipment of a 120 cm high porcelain sculpture to Austria:

We arrived at the gallery, in the historical part of Kiev - Podol. We met the sculptor and it turned out to be Yulia Belyaeva herself. After a pleasant acquaintance we went over to the details of our cooperation. The main condition was to deliver the composition without any damage, cracks, chips or losses and to guarantee qualitative delivery in time. In addition there were 3 cardboard boxes with the rest of the exposition. In the large wooden box was the porcelain "Girl", in the boxes was the "lawn" on which this girl should stand.

This is not an easy task. If we take an order, we have to take full responsibility. Our trusted carrier assured us that he would deliver as gently as possible along the route and to the destination. In addition requires careful unloading in the showroom. After all, it was a shame to deliver intact and damaged at the last minute. Let's just say it all worked out.

At the same time with organizing the flight we made the documents for the sculpture removal from the state expert.

Expertise for export of sculpture abroad Ukraine, permit, cultural value

We set a date and time when we could drive up and transport the sculpture to our workshop for additional packing. The key to success was a properly made wooden box. This box was not made by us, it was well made but needed refinishing. After delivery of the sculpture to our workshop a significant problem had to be corrected. The girl was standing on thin legs, and she could wobble and resonate on the road. It was decided to eliminate the possibility of any rocking and vibration during transportation. So, we used foam and other materials, sparing no material, effort or time.

Done! Only 15 days left to worry about. We could have delivered earlier, but because it was a weekend in Austria we had to postpone the delivery day by one week.

The 1500 km route was filled with challenges - bad roads, detours, evacuation routes, checks at customs points. And it was worth it! The entire composition was successfully delivered.

A small minus of this transportation - we brought the sculpture on Saturday. It turns out that in Austria it is especially difficult to find motivated movers, who will agree to help on the day off. The holy day of rest was interrupted by the efforts of the sculptor herself - Julia Belyaeva. Thank you very much for her understanding and assistance throughout the cooperation.

The sculpture was successfully delivered - safe and sound.
