OSB boxes, OSB board boxes

ArtDom Gallery handles art with care and offers reinforced shipping boxes made from OSB boards for international shipping. OSB boxes are a more cost-effective option than plywood boxes and are more vulnerable to moisture. However, for one-time shipments, they are ideal and will protect against numerous drops and impacts. We always install a layer of dense foam inside the boxes, which acts as a shock-absorbing material and absorbs vibrations and impacts. We also wrap each piece of art (paintings and sculptures) in bubble wrap before loading them into the boxes for additional cushioning and protection.

Boxes are custom-made within 1-3 days based on your requests:

• the number of paintings and sculptures that should fit inside;
• the method of fastening objects inside;
• the material from which the art piece is made (this determines whether the box is filled with additional materials - foam rubber, polystyrene foam, foamed polyethylene)

OSB crates for export: ISPM 15 and “fumigation”

For the international transport of paintings, icons and sculptures, wooden packaging must comply with the ISPM 15 phytosanitary standard. OSB board is processed wood: it is not subject to ISPM 15, so an OSB crate is suitable for export and for shipping abroad without fumigation. If the design includes a frame, slats or skids made of solid wood, we use treated wood bearing the ISPM 15/IPPC marking.

Such crates are often searched for as an “OSB crate with fumigation”, an “ISPM 15 OSB crate” or an “OSB box for shipping abroad”. We do not offer fumigation as a separate service — it is not required when the packaging complies with the standard. Each OSB crate for a painting or sculpture is custom-made to the size of the item.
