polie polienko - Ukrainian artist

I am an artist by vocation. I decided so because I noticed such a pattern behind me - no matter how much I discuss this or that topic, I feel expressive only after I draw something on this topic. I love to paint with liquid acrylic, I love experiments, adding different materials in different proportions. I love to watch how the material is laid out on the canvas according to my "desire", which always leaves room for the unknown and new effects. I love to paint flowers as a symbol of beauty, strength and fragility of nature. In flowers you can sometimes see images of butterflies, which symbolize people who are much less powerful than nature. In this world there are different insects - both beautiful butterflies and unpleasant cockroaches or beetles. Such a metaphor helps me to reveal the potential of a political topic and important international issues that concern me. I am also working on the topic of children who died in the modern Russian-Ukrainian war. I am deeply disappointed by the possibility of a coincidence in which a small group of people can hold power over a huge number of people in their hands and make decisions that are fatal for others. All this should finally teach us to choose more responsibly those who strive for power.
