Schneider Adamina - Ukrainian artist

Schneider Adamina

Shneider Adamina – a contemporary artist whose creative trajectory organically intertwines the energies of two European capitals: dynamic Kyiv and cosmopolitan Berlin. Possessing a profound understanding of fine art, underpinned by her education as a restorer and a Master of Arts degree, Adamina has forged a unique artistic signature, one that echoes classical painting while boldly exploring abstraction and personal mythology.

Years of experience working with the masterpieces of old masters have enriched her aesthetic perception, endowing her with a subtle appreciation for painterly opulence and the harmony of color combinations. However, despite this deep immersion in the past, Adamina Shneider finds her true inspiration in the creation of her own worlds. For her, the daily presence in her studio is not merely work but a sacred ritual of creation, an opportunity to embody on canvas the images born of her imagination.

The artist confesses that her imagined universe, often leaning towards abstraction, offers a sense of coolness and serenity – a unique oasis in the rapid current of modern life. Her interdisciplinary approach encompasses painting, graphic art, and textile installations, allowing her to explore the multifaceted themes that resonate with her as both an artist and a woman. Central to her focus are personal mythology, the phenomenon of female perfectionism, self-care practices, and the subtle beauty of everyday life.

Adamina Shneider views abstractionism as a conscious opposition to the rigid logic of modern civilization, with its formulas, algorithms, and unwavering rules. In the era of social media, where the construction of one's own image and the manipulation of audience have become commonplace, her art becomes a space for exploring the illusion of authenticity, the fluid boundaries of identity, the power of mimicry, and the inner striving to preserve a fabricated "self."

Adamina Shneider's education formed a solid foundation for her artistic experiments: she graduated from the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture in Kyiv (2005-2011), preceded by studies in private studios in Kyiv (2004-2005) and the A. Erdeli College of Arts in Uzhhorod (2001-2004).

Active exhibition activity is an integral part of the artist's creative life. She has participated in numerous group exhibitions, including "Dialogue" at Bürgerhaus Bornheide (Hamburg, 2017), "Burn, Babylon" at Bereznitsky Aesthetics within the framework of GogolFest (Kyiv, 2016), the "Ballpoint Pen" exhibition series at Karas Gallery (Kyiv, 2014-2016), "Yin" at M17 Gallery (Kyiv, 2013), "The Museum of Non-Existent Things" at Orbita Club (Odesa, 2013), "Spring Wind" as part of the Land Art Festival (Kyiv, 2010), as well as youth exhibitions in Budapest (2004), Uzhhorod (2003), Ternopil (2003), and Lviv (2002).

Her creative experience was also enriched by participation in residencies, including a residency for Polish female artists in Berlin (2016), and plein air events such as "Sächsische Schweiz-Bastei" in Dresden (2019) and the International Plein Air in Belasovica (2003).

Adamina Shneider continues to work actively, exploring new facets of her artistic language and inviting viewers to immerse themselves in her unique world of imagined silence, born at the intersection of the cultural codes of Kyiv and Berlin. Her art is a continuous dialogue with herself and the surrounding world, embodied in a variety of forms and techniques.
