Demtsiu Mykhailo

Mykhailo Demtsiu (born 1953 in Krukovets, Lviv region) - Ukrainian postimpressionist and expressionist artist. People's Artist of Ukraine (2010).

His paintings are distinguished by their brightness, volume of paint layers, positive emotions and optimism. The artist loves to travel, which is explained by the combination of Western European and Ukrainian traditions in his work. In addition to traveling around Europe, Demtsyu regularly goes to the Carpathians and finds peace and strength for his colorful paintings there.

Graduated from the Ivan Trush Lviv School of Applied Arts (1980; studied under Taras Dragan and M. Bordun). Since 1987 – member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine. Member of the Club of Ukrainian Artists (1991). Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (1998). Honored Artist of Ukraine (2003).

Awards:

- 2001 — All-Ukrainian Triennial of Painting, III Prize;

- 2003 - Ceramics Festival at the Museum of Ceramics, Westerwald, Germany, 1st prize.

Exhibitions:

In 2009, he held a personal exhibition, "Meeting with Salvador Dali." However, all the titles of Demtsyu's paintings differed stylistically and thematically. The exhibition received warm reviews from art lovers, and one of the visitors was the outstanding artist, Ivan Marchuk.

Mikhail Demtsyu held solo exhibitions in Ukraine and far beyond its borders – in France, Germany, Belgium and Holland.

In 2004, Mykhailo Demtsiu painted porcelain by order of the Rosential company (Germany). Such famous artists as Salvador Dali and Andy Warhol worked for this company.

The works of Demtsyu Mikhail are in many museums and private collections in Ukraine, as well as in private collections in Europe and the USA.
