Barbudaz - Ukrainian artist

Barbudaz Sh is a professional artist who has been working for over 10 years. His works are characterized by a recognizable style and complex technique. The artist regularly holds personal exhibitions. Barbudaz also acts in films, participates in art residences, collaborates with directors, poets and musicians. The main characters of Barbudaz's world are megacities. Barbudaz combines Western and Eastern traditions and synthesizes the technique of engraving, expressionism and primitivism in his art. 

Barbudaz was born in the USSR in an industrial town. At the beginning of his creative path, while practicing various professions, he explored many aspects of modern society. For several years, he worked in metallurgical plants. The artist worked as an athlete, a croupier in a casino, a cameraman and a director, and went on archaeological expeditions. 

The artist's work is a protest against modern foundations, the loss of connection between man and nature. In his work, the artist uses the following stylistics: primitivism, symbolism, grotesque. Barbudaz, despite his incognito status, has a recognizable style - he combines Western and Eastern aesthetics, carefully works out details and uses bright contrasting colors. Barbudaz hides his personal life and appears in public only in a mask.
