Kolomiyets Ruslan - Ukrainian artist
Ruslan Kolomiyets is a contemporary Ukrainian artist. He works in the field of figurative painting, combining features of minimalism and Neo-Pop Art.
Born in 1976. He lives and works in Kyiv. In 1998, he graduated from the Design Department of the Kyiv Art and Industrial College (now the Mykhailo Boichuk Kyiv State Academy of Decorative Applied Arts and Design). He subsequently graduated from the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts (2011).
He works in various painting genres: landscape, portrait, still life, historical, battle, and especially marine art. The painting style of Ruslan Kolomiyets combines several popular movements:
— Minimalist realism
The artist simplifies forms to the limit, stripping away unnecessary details. He focuses on clean lines, large color planes, and the geometry of space (swimming pools, building walls, the horizon line).
— New aesthetics or "Post-internet art"
The style closely resonates with an ideal aesthetic — excellent lighting, clean spaces without redundant details, and a precise composition. This is a painterly interpretation of modern digital minimalism.
— City pop aesthetics and retro-futurism
Ruslan Kolomiyets' paintings reflect a nostalgic, "vacation" style that celebrates serenity and hedonism.
He employs various techniques: oil paints, watercolor, and mixed media.
The artist's works have been featured at private auctions (CCBE and IBA 2014, KRYC 2015). Ruslan Kolomiyets' paintings are held in private collections across Ukraine and Europe.
