Бурда Ярослав

Yaroslav Burda (1945-2022) – an outstanding Ukrainian artist, one of the representatives of the Western school of painting. A member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine since 1992.
The future Ukrainian artist was born on April 5, 1945, in the village of Podrusiv, Tomaszów County, Lublin Voivodeship, Poland. Shortly after his birth, his family was deported to Ukraine.
Since 1966, his family lived in Ternopil. He graduated from the Lviv College named after Ivan Trush (now – College of Decorative and Applied Arts), and later from the N. Krupskaya University (Moscow). In 1995, Yaroslav Burda graduated from the Ukrainian Printing Institute named after Ivan Fedorov in Lviv (now – Ukrainian Academy of Printing), Faculty of Graphics.
Since 1982, he worked at the Ternopil Art Production Plant.
He worked in the field of easel and monumental painting. He participated in regional exhibitions (since 1984). The artist's success was positively noted by critics and art connoisseurs, after which his paintings took part in national and international projects. He painted several churches.
His creative legacy includes several series of paintings in the styles of expressionism and futurism. The themes of his works include still lifes, portraits, abstractions, and narrative compositions. The artist's paintings are preserved in the Ternopil Regional Museum of Local Lore and Art, as well as in private collections in Ukraine, the USA, Slovakia, Poland, and Canada.
