“Sea of Memories” is an expressive work by Olena Litka from her original “Illusions” series, in which a seascape takes on emotional depth. The composition contrasts a dark green-turquoise expanse of water with a dramatic sky in golden, gray, and brown tones. The horizon divides these two elements, creating a sense of depth and inner tension.

The water is filled with complex color transitions and energetic brushstrokes reminiscent of light reflecting on a moving surface. Rocky shores frame the water, while lighter areas of the sky contrast with dark masses of clouds. The layered texture adds expressiveness to the painting and highlights the artist’s individual style.

The work displays characteristics of Expressionism: a rich palette, free brushwork, and contrasts between warm and cool tones. The title invites a symbolic interpretation: the sea may evoke the depth of human emotions, while the changing light suggests memories that acquire new shades of meaning over time.

The painting can become a striking focal point in a living room, study, or creative space. Its turquoise and emerald tones complement natural wood, neutral walls, and graphite accents, while the golden hues add warmth to the interior.

Condition: The painting sustained minor damage that has since been professionally restored.

This original painting by Ukrainian artist Olena Litka will appeal to admirers of contemporary art and expressive landscapes that explore the emotional connection between people and nature.
