The vertical still life "Wedding Bouquet" is built around a tall clear glass vase standing on a pale tablecloth just right of centre. Above it opens a lush, loosely gathered armful of flowers: deep burgundy and plum blooms in the middle, a burst of orange and pink on the left, a scatter of small daisies with yellow centres below, while at the edges the bouquet seems to dissolve into pale petals and thin stems. Green stalks are visible through the glass in the water. In the lower left corner a single lemon lies on the table, balancing the heavy mass of flowers and giving the eye a second accent. The background is a blue wall with soft lilac transitions, and a blue shadow stretches from the vase across the cloth.
The painting is made in Dulin's characteristic impasto manner: the flowers are modelled with thick, short palette-knife strokes, the paint lies in raised layers, and the close-ups clearly show individual petals standing out from the surface of the canvas. The background and the table are handled differently, more broadly and flatly, with the canvas weave showing through the thin paint in places. This combination of dense relief and light washes makes the bouquet feel three-dimensional and alive, as if it had just been carried into the room. The artist's signature "Yehor Dulin" is in the lower left corner.
The palette rests on the contrast of cool and warm: the blue background and blue shadows against orange, pink, the yellow lemon and the dark wine of the burgundy flowers. The white tablecloth is lit by bright daylight, which makes the whole scene feel light and festive. The mood is celebratory without being formal: this is a bouquet you want to keep looking at, discovering new flowers, blades of grass and reflections on the glass.
Yegor Dulin has been a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine since 2010. He went through more than ten years of academic training, from a children's art school to the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts and the H. S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University, from which he graduated with a master's degree in 2011. Since 1999 the artist has regularly taken part in regional, national and international exhibitions and plein-air events.
At 60 × 80 cm the painting can become a noticeable accent in a living room above a chest of drawers or a sofa, in a bedroom or in a bright dining room. Its blue palette works well with light, white and grey-blue interiors, while the warm orange and burgundy patches add liveliness. The work makes a heartfelt wedding or anniversary present, a memorable gift for a woman, and a fitting gift for a partner or colleague on a special occasion.
