"Lily Pond" is a vertical canvas in which the viewer looks down at a pond from above, almost straight down. The floating water-lily pads are gathered in the centre in a loose group: large rounded patches of turquoise and light green overlap one another, while at the bottom two pads sink into the depth and darken under the water. Among the pads two white flowers have opened, and a pink bud rises on the right. The upper part of the painting is open water reflecting the sky, where only a few single pads and another unopened bud float, so the composition stays light and airy, with plenty of "breathing space" around the main group.

The surface of the water is painted with a palette knife: long horizontal slabs of paint lie in layers, leaving thin raised ridges and marks along their edges that resemble ripples. The pads are formed with dense, almost sculptural strokes with a dark rim, the petals with a few short touches of thick white. The impasto texture is clearly visible in the photos taken at an angle: the painting comes alive through the play of light on the relief of the paint. The side edges of the canvas are left white, so the work can be hung without a frame. In the lower left corner is the artist's signature "Yehor Dulin" and the date.

The palette is light and cool: blue, lavender, turquoise, delicate pink and milky reflections of clouds. Blue bands in the upper part convey the depth of the water, while yellow-green highlights on the pads suggest sunlight breaking through the clouds. The white lilies and the pink bud become warm focal points within the cool palette. The painting breathes the silence and calm of a summer morning by the pond, when the water is almost still and the flowers are just opening towards the light. The eye finds neither shore nor horizon here — only water, leaves and flowers — and there is something meditative in this immersion.

Since 1999 Yegor Dulin has regularly taken part in regional, national and international exhibitions and plein-airs, and he has held solo exhibitions in various cities of Ukraine. His works are held in private collections in Ukraine, Australia, the USA, the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, Canada and other countries.

The 65 × 85 cm size and vertical format allow the painting to be hung on a narrow wall, above a bed, by a staircase or next to a window. The light pastel palette does not overload the space, so "Lily Pond" will fit into almost any interior — from a bedroom or living room to a study — and in a room with little daylight it will add a sense of air and water. It is a tender gift for a woman — a mother, wife or friend — especially one who loves nature, gardens and impressionist painting.
