Kokin Mikhail Aleksandrovich (1921, Dnepropetrovsk - 2009) - outstanding painter

Painter, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, Honored Artist of Ukraine, People's Artist of Ukraine. Member of the Union of Artists of the Ukrainian SSR.

Art was a new breath for the artist in the postwar period. In the works of Michael Kokin you can see a new vision of life, the subtle beauty of peaceful life. The creative way of the artist - endless searches, improvements and discoveries, devoted to the beauty of nature of the Ukraine, the Caucasus, Chukotka. Landscapes Kokin MA attract severity, poetry, brightness and richness of color.

THE FEATURE OF THE ARTIST'S WORK
The richness of colors, impressionistic mood, rasping are the characteristic features of M.A. Kokin's art works filled with Ukrainian lyricism - bright, lively, full of air and sunny colors. All this shows how the artist is in love with the nature of his native land. Kokin Mikhail Aleksandrovich's art is a cultural heritage of Ukrainian art, which is filled with love for life, native land and colorful perception of nature.


EDUCATION

In 1936-1941, and after the war he studied at the Dnepropetrovsk Art College, which he graduated in 1947, the class of a wonderful teacher, a disciple of IE Repin, M.N. Panin.

In 1954 he graduated from Kyiv State Art Institute, where his teachers were G.S. Melikhov S.A. Grigoryev and V.N. Kostetsky.

EXHIBITIONS

Took part in regional exhibitions since 1947, national - since 1957.

TITLES

Since 1958 Mikhail Aleksandrovich Kokin became a member of the National Union of Artists of the Ukrainian SSR.

In 1976 he was awarded the title Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR, and in 2001 - People's Artist of Ukraine.

CULTURAL HERITAGE

From 1965 to 1987 he worked as chief artist of the Dnepropetrovsk art-production plant. His works are represented in art museums of Dnepropetrovsk, Kiev, Chernigov, Donetsk, Kamenetz-Podolsk, Nikolaev, Zhitomir, Sevastopol, Kherson, the museum-reserve T.G. Shevchenko in Kaniv, private collections in Ukraine, France, Spain, Canada, USA.
