The painting "Sunday Walk" takes the viewer to a forest clearing on a sunny day. On the left, in the foreground, stands the mighty trunk of an old tree with curving roots, while on the right rise three slender, thin trunks whose tops are lit by bright sunshine. Between the trees a gap opens up: beyond them a strip of sunlit meadow can be seen, and in the foreground lie large stones and patches of pinkish earth. There are no people in the painting, yet the vertical composition seems to invite the viewer to step into the forest and stroll along a path between the trunks, as on a leisurely weekend walk.

The work is executed in acrylic on hardboard in an expressive manner. The artist builds the space from large, dense patches of colour laid down with confident broad strokes and uses almost no small details. The tree trunks are outlined with contrasting blue and dark lines, the crowns turn into generalised green, yellow and blue masses, and the stones in the foreground become a mosaic of pink, ochre and grey-green planes. This approach brings the work close to the traditions of modernist landscape painting. The artist's signature is in the lower right corner.

The colour scheme is built on bold combinations: saturated blue and ultramarine shadows sit next to emerald-green foliage, while sunny lemon-yellow patches in the crowns act as the light source of the whole painting. Pink and peach accents on the stones and earth add warmth and make the palette festive. The painting conveys the freshness of forest air, the play of sunlight and the joyful, carefree mood of a day off in nature.

Since 2012 Orest Tsyupko has headed the Khust City Art Gallery, organising exhibitions and international plein airs and developing cultural cooperation. The artist works in the genres of landscape, still life, portrait and genre painting, combining elements of realism, Art Nouveau and symbolism; his works are distinguished by attention to colour and natural forms. In 2024 he was awarded the medal "For Creative Achievements" by the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.

The vertical 50 by 60 centimetre format fits easily into a living room, bedroom, hallway or study, and the bright blue-green palette will enliven an interior in neutral or light tones. The painting goes well with natural wood, textiles and live plants, enhancing the sense of connection with nature. "Sunday Walk" will make a warm gift for those who love the forest, hiking and time outdoors — for a man or a woman alike.
