The main character of the painting "Floral Guest" is a pale pink cockatoo with a raised crest. It sits on a branch in the right part of the vertical canvas, its head turned to the left, gazing attentively with a dark eye. Around the bird open large flowers resembling peonies and anemones: pink and creamy-white petals with crimson centres and dark or golden stamens. The flowers fill the whole space of the canvas, from the upper left corner to the lower edge, with green leaves, fine grasses and buds visible between them. The parrot really does seem to have dropped in as a guest in a blossoming garden. The bird's pink plumage echoes the colour of the petals, so the cockatoo seems a natural part of the floral composition.

The work is executed in a dual technique of acrylic and oil. The artist renders the bird's plumage in detail: each feather on the breast and wings is conveyed with a separate soft stroke, the crest is drawn with light pointed strokes, and the beak and eye have distinct highlights. The flower petals are painted with smooth transitions from light edges to rich centres, which gives them volume and a velvety feel. The dark background is worked unevenly, with barely perceptible tints of blue and green. The branch on which the bird sits is painted in muted green-grey tones and almost merges with the background.

The colour scheme is built on the contrast of delicate pink, powder and cream tones with a deep dark blue, almost black background. As a result, the flowers and the bird literally emerge from the darkness, and the composition looks striking and intimate at the same time. The crimson flower centres and green leaves add richness without disturbing the overall soft range. The atmosphere of the painting is graceful, slightly fairy-tale-like and very warm. The pale flowers are spread evenly across the canvas, so the dark background does not weigh the composition down.
