The painting "October Plays with Colours" is painted on a round canvas 90 cm in diameter, and this shape defines the whole composition. Autumn fruit and flowers are arranged in a semicircle along the left and lower edges, following the line of the canvas, while the upper part remains open and filled with a light sky. Here we find ruddy apples, lush hydrangea heads in crimson and pink tones, clusters of blue berries, blackberries, bright bunches of rowan and carved leaves in yellow, orange and red. On the right there are fluffy seed heads and thin twigs, and a barely visible butterfly flutters in the light space above them. The curving garland of fruit leads the eye around the circle, and the composition feels both lively and self-contained.
The work is executed in a dual technique of acrylic and oil. The artist carefully renders every form: the apples show highlights and smooth transitions from yellow to red, the rowan and blue berries glisten as if covered with drops, and the leaves have a clear pattern of veins. The background, by contrast, is resolved in soft, almost airy strokes of blue, pink and white, which gives the composition depth. The round format enhances the decorative quality and lends the image a sense of completeness. The background strokes seem to dissolve towards the edge of the circle, enhancing the sense of light, open space.
The colour scheme combines a cool light background with hot autumn hues. Red, crimson, golden yellow and orange flare up against a delicate blue sky, while the blue berries add a cool note that links the foreground with the background. The mood of the painting is festive and bright: October is shown here not as a time of fading, but as a season of generous fruit, vivid leaves and clear air. The light sky leaves room for air in the composition, so even the abundance of fruit does not make it heavy.
Floral compositions hold a special place in Evgenia Bilet's work: they allow her to explore the richness of nature's palette, the variety of forms and subtle transitions between shades. The artist takes part in exhibitions, creates original works and accepts commissions for paintings.
A round painting 90 cm in diameter becomes an unusual centrepiece of an interior: it softens the strict lines of furniture and walls and looks good above a sofa, a chest of drawers or in a dining room. The light background allows it to be placed in both light and more richly coloured rooms. The work will make a lovely gift for a woman who appreciates autumn motifs, unusual formats and bright, finely detailed painting. Its warm autumn colours make it especially fitting in the colder months, yet in summer it will also delight with its brightness.
