"Nude" is a horizontal work in which the classical genre of the nude is approached through a close-up view and a strong generalisation of form. The centre of the canvas is occupied by the dark silhouette of a female figure: the smooth curve of the back and hip reads as a soft contour set into an almost architectural composition. The figure is not detailed — its plasticity is conveyed through patch, line and gradations of shadow. To its left is a pale rounded form with fine grid-like hatching; to the right, a block laid out with multicoloured fragments resembling mosaic, and translucent streams falling from above like jets of water. Yellow flashes of light flicker in the upper left corner. The composition is built on the dialogue between the rounded lines of the body and the geometry of the surrounding space.

The work is painted in oil on canvas. The background is worked with short cross-hatched strokes and separate angular planes of colour that add up to a shimmering, mosaic-like surface. The figure, by contrast, is painted in thin layers with soft transitions of dark brown and violet, so that it seems immersed in half-light. Light strokes along the edge of the silhouette separate it from the background and emphasise its volume. The translucent streams on the right are made with light drags of the brush through which the underlayers show. This combination of a fragmented, restless background texture with the calm, unified mass of the figure creates the impression that the body is emerging from a living, vibrating space. The artist's signature "Цюпко О" with the date "17" is on the left side of the canvas.

The palette combines deep dark tones — plum, aubergine, brown — with cool lilac, lavender, grey-blue and pinkish shades. Rare lemon-yellow and turquoise accents bring a sense of light penetrating a shaded space into the restrained colour range. The mood of the painting is intimate and contemplative: the nude figure here is not a narrative but part of a rhythm of forms and colour, an image of silence, calm and evening coolness. The work speaks of the beauty of the human body through suggestion rather than detailed description.

Orest Tsyupko is a Ukrainian painter born in 1963 in Lviv. He received his first art training at the Oleksa Novakivskyi Lviv Children's Art School, and in 1989 graduated from the Lviv State Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts, where he studied in the ceramics department. In his easel painting the artist combines elements of realism, Art Nouveau and symbolism, working in landscape, still life, portrait and genre painting.

The 70 × 60 cm format and the deep, restrained palette make the painting suitable for a bedroom, study or private living room, where it will create an atmosphere of seclusion and calm. The work goes well with interiors in graphite, grey-lilac and dark wood tones, with subdued warm light and soft textiles. It will make a gift for a connoisseur of figurative painting and of a contemporary take on the classical nude. Thanks to its delicate, generalised treatment of the subject, the work is also appropriate in a home interior where restraint and taste matter.
