"Spring" is a poetic, allegorical image. On the right of the canvas rises a pale female figure in a long white garment; her head is bowed and her gaze directed down towards the flowers rising from thick grass in the lower left corner. These are young buds — white, cream and pale green — on tall slender stems, as if they have only just broken through the soil. On the right the figure is framed by an intricate pattern of sharp facets and shards resembling stained glass or a crust of ice, while in the upper left the light space is shot through with small blue and violet splashes. The composition is built on a dialogue between the calm, luminous figure and the lively movement of the plants.

The painting is done in oil in a free, multi-layered manner. The garment and background are worked in soft, translucent layers through which light blue and grey tones show, and the line of the shoulder and the folds of the robe are suggested with broad, flowing strokes. The flowers and grass, by contrast, are painted energetically: short vertical strokes and precise highlights give them freshness and spring. The faceted pattern on the right is rendered in crisp lines and planes, creating an expressive contrast with the softness of the figure. The signature "Цюпко О." with the date "17" appears in the lower left corner.

The palette combines milky white, pearl and pale blue with rich ultramarine and violet on the right. The juicy green of the grass and the lemon-yellow accents of the buds bring warmth and a sense of awakening life. The mood is quiet, bright and a little dreamy: spring appears here not as a noisy celebration but as a gentle, focused awakening of nature.

Orest Tsyupko is a contemporary Ukrainian painter and a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. He works in landscape, still life, portraiture and genre painting, combining elements of realism, Art Nouveau and symbolism, and his works are marked by attention to colour and natural forms.

The vertical 60 × 70 cm format and the light white and blue palette make the painting a good choice for a bedroom, living room or cosy reading corner. It will sit harmoniously in a light-toned interior and add a poetic note. It makes a touching gift for a woman — for a spring holiday, a birthday or simply as a token of affection.
