An outstanding Ukrainian painter, which is sometimes referred to as "Ukrainian Van Gogh" - Makarov Viktor Vasilyevich. During his lifetime the artist created more than 2,000 paintings. Some are in the collections of the Ternopil Regional Museum of Art, the Ternopil Regional Museum of Local Lore, the Kuindzhi Center of Contemporary Art and Culture, and private collections in Ukraine, Croatia, Italy, Germany, Canada, Russia, America, the Czech Republic and Poland.
The rating center of the Artists Trade Union awarded category 4B - "established professional artist, demanded by the art market".
One day, the mother of the future artist decided to take her son to the artists to assess whether her son really has any talent, or it's just a whim. He took a naive little drawing with him, and one of the artists dipped his brush into the paint and handed it to him: "Come on, paint a bell". He drew, and this "exam" was enough for the already famous artists Alexei Zavadtsev and Viktor Pavlov to agree to accept him as a student.
Very quickly Makarov received the title of master (1948) and already worked as a designer in the art-production enterprises. Not finishing school, went to work as a set designer in the theater. That was his school. He could have graduated from the popular Krupskaya Academy in Moscow, but the budding artist felt no such need.
He worked and learned from the masters of their craft. And, as he often repeats - from nature, it is from her the artist absorbed all its manifestations. This allowed Makarov V. V. to lovingly convey color on the canvas and leave in each work a piece of the mood of his soul.
In his landscapes seemingly quite ordinary motifs permeated with light and woven from the rainbow generosity of colors. His lyrical landscapes prevail - now quietly contemplative, now dynamic, expressive, and with each new canvas changes the plasticity, enriches the texture of the painting, its color saturation, emotional impact.
At different times of the year Makarov V.V. fished on the sketches precious treasures, the fragments of ancient history of Ukraine, which though not survived, but will forever remain on the canvases of the prominent Ukrainian painter.
Mastery of the Makarov Viktor Vasilyevich skillfully displays the spirit of nature, which literally comes to life on his paintings - the leaves trembling on the trees, like a candle flame, a cheerful cloud, trapped in a frame, asking to fly, fresh spring leaves poured color from the sun kisses and wind, like a bow, plays the song of the forest. As many paintings, so much mood and joy to life.
