Tartakovsky Isaac - Ukrainian artist

 

Tartakovsky Isaac Josephovich (1912 - 2002) was born in Volichisk (Khmelnitsky region, Ukraine) in the family of a teacher.

In 1929 he graduated from the art and industrial school. From 1932 to 1937 he studied at the Kiev Institute of Cinematography at the cinematography department of A. Dovzhenko's workshop. Dovzhenko, graduating with honors.

Since 1949 he participated in national and all-Union exhibitions, and since 1951 - in international exhibitions.

In 1976 Isaac Tartakovsky was awarded the title Honored Artist of Ukraine, and in 1993 he was awarded the title People's Artist of Ukraine. The outstanding artist is the author of numerous thematic paintings that stand out for their imagery and sincere love of life. Isaac Iosifovich had an original author's style, which soon became recognizable.

Creative heritage of Isaac Tartakovsky in private collections in Ukraine, USA and Europe, as well as in the state collections of the National Art Museum of Ukraine, Dnepropetrovsk, Donetsk, Simferopol, Sevastopol art museums, Feodosiya picture gallery.
