Barabash Svyatoslav - Ukrainian artist

Barabash Sviatoslav – a talented Ukrainian artist whose work is distinguished by a subtle lyricism and a deep feeling for nature. Born in the picturesque city of Odesa on July 25, 1978, he continues to live and work in this vibrant city, drawing inspiration from its seascapes and charming atmosphere.
Sviatoslav took his first steps in the world of art at the Kostandi Odesa Art School (1993-1995), where Chernov was his mentor. This was followed by studies at the Grekov Odesa Art College (graduated in 2000), where Martynuk and Paprotsky honed his skills. A desire for a deeper understanding of art led Sviatoslav to the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture in Kyiv (2000-2006), where he studied in the workshop of the prominent artist Mykhailo Guida.
Since 2003, Sviatoslav Barabash has actively participated in the work of the Youth Section of the Odesa Regional Organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, and in 2021 he became a full member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, which recognized his mature skill and significant contribution to Ukrainian art.
The artist's creative activity is marked by nine solo exhibitions held in significant cultural spaces in Odesa and Kyiv, including the "Ukrainska Skarbnytsia" (2002), "Union" (2004), Museum of Western and Eastern Art (Odesa, 2006, 2013), Odesa Art Museum (2009), and "Pit-Art" Gallery (Kyiv, 2012), as well as the "Muza" Gallery (2015, 2019) and "Towers" Gallery (2017).
In addition to solo projects, Sviatoslav Barabash actively participates in all-Ukrainian, city, and regional art exhibitions, showcasing his multifaceted work to a wide audience. Among the selected group exhibitions, it is worth noting his participation in the collective exhibition of contemporary artists at the "Mytets" Gallery in Kyiv (2013) and the collective exhibition of graduates of Professor Mykhailo Guida's workshop at the "Mytets" Gallery in Kyiv (2021), as well as his participation in the "Ukraine and the Universe" project dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's Independence (2021).
In his work, Sviatoslav Barabash prefers the genres of landscape and still life, finding endless inspiration in the beauty of the surrounding world. The artist spends a significant part of the year en plein air, considering nature his best teacher. In portrait painting, he mainly turns to the images of his loved ones, creating intimate and emotionally rich works. In addition to easel painting, Sviatoslav also successfully engages in book illustration and digital painting, demonstrating the breadth of his creative possibilities.
Sviatoslav Barabash's works are held in private collections in Ukraine, Greece, Germany, and the USA, which testifies to the international interest in his art and his ability to convey universal feelings and emotions through the language of painting.
