Rusina Natallia - Ukrainian artist

Nataliia Rusyna – a talented artist and educator from the picturesque city of Odesa, Ukraine. Her creative journey began with her graduation from the South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky in 2006, but the roots of her passion for art run deeper – to the walls of the art studio at the regional humanitarian center for extracurricular education and upbringing.
Symbolically, Nataliia now shares the secrets of her craft with young students in this very studio, where she once learned the basics of painting and ceramics under the careful guidance of renowned Odesa painters Volodymyr Rudoy and Vitaliy Alikberov. Her dream of becoming a teacher and returning to her alma mater came true during her university years when, as a third-year student of the art and graphic arts faculty, Nataliia embarked on her pedagogical path.
Years of honing her skills have allowed Nataliia to develop a unique approach to teaching adults. Under her guidance, even novice artists are capable of creating worthy pieces, taking home not just a painting, but a part of their soul embodied on canvas. She possesses the rare gift of finding an individual language with each student, explaining complex techniques in a simple and understandable way, turning the creative process into a fascinating game. The result of this magic is delicate still lifes with violets and orchids, juicy fruits and elegant cups, as well as touching depictions of cute little owls.
Nataliia Rusyna is not only an artist but also a certified art therapist and the author of an innovative projective method of intuitive oil painting. Her commitment to self-improvement is confirmed by her completion of the "Training for Trainers" course at the esteemed "PSYCHOLOGY" Corporation.
A special place in Nataliia's work is occupied by the exploration of the subtle boundary between reality and dreams. Her art project "Festival of Dreams," presented at the OSP ART gallery, immerses the viewer in a poetic world of reveries, where the titles of the paintings – "Creation of the World," "Lunar Dandelions," "Dream Fairy," "Golden Dream" – echo the surreal images. Art critic Lyudmyla Saulenko notes that Nataliia's work is developing in the direction of allegory, where familiar proportions give way to the infinity of the world.
Nataliia deepened her knowledge not only at the pedagogical university but also at the Odesa Art College named after M. Grekov, where Vitaliy Alikberov once again became her mentor. Her active participation in international exhibitions and plein airs, as well as her solo exhibition "Vacation in Summer" at the Museum of Modern Art of Odesa in 2009, testify to the recognition of her talent at various levels.
Today, Nataliia continues to teach fine and applied arts at the Regional Humanitarian Center, sharing her experience and inspiration with a new generation of artists. Her exhibitions often feature not only her own works but also the first steps in oil painting by her students, whether they are touching bouquets of poppies and cornflowers or amusing scenes from the lives of pets. Nataliia enthusiastically talks about how even the youngest students, starting to paint in oil as early as six or seven years old, improve their skills every year, and following them, their mothers join the creative process, creating amazing still lifes in just a few hours.
Nataliia Rusyna's work is a bridge between the world of wakefulness and dreams, between teacher and student, between traditional art and innovative techniques. Her paintings and pedagogical activities carry light and inspiration, making the world around a little brighter and kinder.
