Gavdzinsky Albin
Gavdzinsky Albin Stanislavovich - People's Artist of Ukraine. Born on July 4, 1923 in the village of Bobrik Pervy, Odessa region, Ukraine. Since childhood, he was attracted by art, and drawing became his favorite thing. His school years revealed his talent, which did not go unnoticed by his teachers. This prompted his parents to support his desire for creativity.
About the People's Artist of Ukraine Albina Stanislavovich Gavdzinsky (1923 - 2014) it seems almost impossible to say something new that was not said during his long life by both journalists and publicists, and art critics of international level. Having once defined his priorities in art, the master remained faithful to them throughout 75 years of his creative activity.
The basis of his artistic principles was invariably a love of nature and people, and a tireless desire for improvement.
During his lifetime, Albin Gavdzinsky entered the history of world art as one of the most prominent representatives of Ukrainian impressionism of the second half of the twentieth century and is undoubtedly the leader of the classical direction of Odessa fine art.
The artist’s works are so integral and picturesquely fused that any attempt to decompose them and describe them in parts is doomed to failure in advance. Gavdzinsky’s paintings are always a leisurely, confidential story about what is happening, full of lyrical experience. They are sublime and pure, they can be compared with poetic and musical works with a continuity of figurative sound that does not fit into the framework of reasoning. The viewer has the fortunate opportunity to experience this feeling on the wave of an enthusiastic perception of the world.
Albin Gavdzinsky dedicated many of his works to his native Odessa, with which his entire adult life was connected. What beautiful Odessa streets are depicted at different times of the year! But it’s not only nature that permeates and overshadows Gavdzinsky’s cityscapes. The most beautiful buildings in Odessa are their architectural decoration, masterfully and accurately transferred by the master to canvas. How can one not love these ancient houses, which remember the voices of the first builders of Odessa and preserve within their walls the spirit of a bygone era...
During his long, creative life, Albin Stanislavovich visited different cities and countries. Everywhere he went out into the streets and wrote what his observant eyes saw and his life-trained heart felt.
The views he created of Krakow, Wroclaw, London, Kyiv, Odessa and many other cities will decorate any national gallery. They are already decorating. His numerous works are the pride of museums and private collections in France, Germany, Japan, USA, Canada, Spain, Italy, England and Ukraine. An artist of universal talent, who tirelessly praised the earthly beauty and trepidation of an infinitely varied life. Such people bring glory to the city in which they lived, and to the country, whose cultural traditions they preserved and increased through their sincere creative work.
