Nadiia Hayduk (1948 - 2016) - a Ukrainian artist known for her abstract and non-objective painting. She was married to the writer and satirist Mikhail Zhvanetsky, with whom she had a daughter. She was part of the Odesa Nonconformist Art Movement, which was initiated by outstanding graphic artist Oleg Sokolov (1919-1990).
The painting, rendered in the artist's signature style, is a fantastic landscape, a surrealist piece combined with geometric abstraction. The central composition features a girl, viewed from the back, and a levitating cube. A meticulously crafted storyline, high-quality execution, and an original concept — all are characteristic of the Nonconformists, the artists of the 1980s–2000s who contributed significantly to the development of Ukrainian art. Subsequently, such paintings became part of the collection of Ukrainian underground art and constitute an entire chapter of Ukrainian art history.
