Certificate for Painting examination for export abroad
- Overview
- Characteristics
According to the requirements of Ukrainian legislation, exporting artworks requires a specific permit granting the right to take them abroad or send them via international shipping. This regulation is designed to preserve the cultural treasures of the Ukrainian people within the country. Artworks considered highly significant to Ukrainian history are classified as such values if they:
- are antique, meaning they were created before 1950;
- possess high artistic or historical value on a national scale;
- were created by an author who significantly influenced Ukraine's cultural development;
- are listed (or the author is listed) in the Register of lost items or those prohibited from being exported.
| For example, paintings by Maria Prymachenko created after 1950 might seem eligible for export, but due to her profound influence on Ukrainian culture, all of her works are strictly prohibited from being taken outside the territory of Ukraine. |
