Painting Dark flows, artist Manetsky Orest

On Orest Manetskyi's canvas, "Dark Currents," an abstract composition unfolds, deeply immersing the viewer in a world of inner flows and hidden energies. The painting features a strictly structured arrangement of dark, almost black blocks, through which bright blue, winding lines emerge. These lines resemble rivers flowing through a gloomy landscape, like neural impulses penetrating the depths of consciousness.

The dark areas of the background, executed using a thick, textured impasto technique, create a sense of depth and density, as if before us lies an uneven, rough surface that absorbs light. At the same time, bright, almost electric flashes of blue break through this darkness, which, thanks to their dynamic movement, lend rhythm and pulsation to the composition. Individual short horizontal strokes on the dark areas add internal vibration and a sense of hidden motion to the composition.

The painting "Dark Currents" is not so much a landscape as it is a psychological landscape, exploring the interaction of light and shadow, order and chaos, conscious and subconscious. The color palette, limited to dark shades and bright blue, enhances the drama and mystery of the image. This work of art invites the viewer to meditative contemplation, allowing each to find their own associations within this visual flow.

Orest Manetskyi is a Ukrainian artist who received an award at the Biennale of Contemporary Art (Salerno) in the field of video art and new technologies.

Born in Lviv in 1992, he received his education at the Sambir School of Applied Arts, followed by the Lviv Polytechnic National University. A representative of Ukrainian contemporary art, he experiments in abstract painting, possesses an authorial style in painting and creating artworks, and is a conceptualist in the field of video and audio art. The artist experiments with the peculiarities of human perception and processing of visual information, thereby finding new ways of interacting with the viewer.
