The etching of the outstanding Ukrainian contemporary artist - Makov Pavel (born 1958), whose works are rare on the world art market.

The artist works only in the genre of graphics (drawings, etchings). Due to his mysterious, philosophical, and complex subjects Poppy Paul was included in the Royal Society of Painters and Graphic Artists (UK).

The artist's work is represented both in private collections and museum and gallery collections - for example, at the Zimmerly Museum (New Jersey, USA), the Library of Congress (Washington, USA), the Art Museum (Cremona, Italy), the Contemporary Art Center (Osaka, Japan), the Victoria and Albert Museum (London, UK) and National Art Museum (Kiev, Ukraine).

Since 2021, Pavel Makov was elected an academician of the National Academy of Arts in Ukraine.

The master works in the technique of graphics, and in particular this author's canvas belongs to the cycle of graphic landscapes under the general name "Shelter". At the heart of the technique used is the technology of metallographic printing or intaglio, which is one of the varieties of gravure printing under great pressure with the use of special inks. The result is a luxuriously embossed image with many halftones, each line and stroke of which can be felt to the touch.
