Paper series Montval It was developed by the artist Gaspard Maillol, nephew of the sculptor Aristide Maillol, and produced by Canson® at his request in the early 20th century. The paper is made from 100% high-quality white cellulose. This series of papers is free of acids and bleaches and is resistant to use. The paper is suitable for all wet-painting techniques: watercolor, gouache, and acrylic paint.
The properties of the paper make it a particularly good solution for beginners and students.
The Montval series is available in two textures: medium grain (cold pressed) and large grain (snow grain).
Paper weight: 185, 200 and 300 g/m² (medium grain) and 270 g/m² (coarse grain) .

Packaging format: sheet paper, glue-blocks, albums.

With texture medium grain (cold pressed) It has excellent quality and allows for easy correction. Retouching is easy by washing the paper with water using a sponge or brush. This removes even the slightest trace of watercolor, allowing you to start over on the same paper. Corrections on Montval paper can be made by scraping without peeling. The paper is highly resistant to wetting, allowing you to work with large amounts of water and apply layers of paint without risk of damage or deformation.
With texture coarse grain (snow grain) This is a special type of texture for quick techniques, such as a la prima, and is therefore not suitable for repeated corrections. It works well for objects in motion, such as clouds, waves, etc.
