The 30×40×10 cm hardboard shipping crate is designed for packing and transporting a single small-format painting, graphic, or icon. A rigid wooden frame, hardboard walls, and internal shock-absorbing materials help reduce the risk of damage during loading, transportation within Ukraine, and international delivery.

Internal dimensions of the crate — 30×40×10 cm. They are designed to accommodate a single small-format painting, including the frame, provided its dimensions do not exceed the usable internal space. External dimensions — 40×50×20 cm.

The structure consists of a wooden frame and 2–3 mm thick fibreboard (hardboard) walls. For internal protection, we use expanded polystyrene (foam), extruded polystyrene (styrodur), and polyurethane foam. Protective inserts are selected based on the specifics of the artwork to limit its movement inside the crate and reduce the impact of shocks and vibrations.

This shipping crate is suitable for sending a small painting to a buyer, delivering a graphic work or icon to an exhibition, or transporting an artwork via an international courier or logistics service in compliance with carrier requirements.

How to Choose Packaging for a Painting?

Compared to standard cardboard boxes, hardboard crates feature a stiffer wooden batten frame and are suitable for shipments requiring extra mechanical protection. However, they are heavier than cardboard packaging, which should be factored in when calculating international shipping costs.

For heavier, oversized, or particularly vulnerable artworks, we also manufacture OSB crates and plywood crates with a reinforced structure. The choice of packaging depends on the specifics of the artwork and transport conditions.

Hardboard Crate for International Delivery: ISPM 15

When shipping a painting abroad, it is important to comply with phytosanitary requirements for wooden transport packaging. Hardboard walls are classified as processed wood materials; however, solid wood frame components may be subject to ISPM 15 standards.

For export packaging, we use appropriately treated wooden elements and account for IPPC marking requirements depending on the crate design and destination country. The workshop does not provide standalone fumigation services.
