An outstanding Ukrainian painter, which is sometimes referred to as "Ukrainian Van Gogh" - Makarov Viktor Vasilyevich. During his lifetime the artist created more than 2,000 paintings. Some of them are in collections of Ternopil Regional Art Museum, Ternopil Local History Museum, as well as in private collections in Ukraine and abroad.
The rating center of the Artists Trade Union awarded category 4B - "established professional artist, demanded by the art market. (The recommended prices for paintings, according to the rating category, are listed at the bottom of the copies of the first pages of the catalog).
Was born March 20, 1932 in Krivoy Rog (Dnepropetrovsk region), in the family of a miner. At the age of 14 I moved to Ternopil. After the miners' terraces here in Galicia, the young Makarov was struck by the lush greenery, the colorfulness of the sky. Impressed so much that he wanted to splash out his feelings. Found a brush and paper, which have become his dearest friends for life. So, the novice painter got interested in drawing. And since not far from home was located art studio, his mother decided to take him to the artists to assess whether the son really has a talent, or it's just a whim. He took a naive little drawing with him, and one of the artists dipped his brush in paint and handed it to him: "Come on, paint a well. He drew, and this "exam" was enough for the already famous artists Alexei Zavadtsev and Viktor Pavlov to agree to accept him as a student.
Very quickly Makarov received the title of master (1948) and already worked as a designer in the art-production enterprises. Not finishing school, went to work as a set designer in the theater. That was his school. He could have graduated from the popular Krupskaya Academy in Moscow, but the budding artist felt no such need.
He worked and learned from the masters of their craft. And, as he often repeats - from nature, it is from her the artist absorbed all its manifestations. This allowed Makarov V. V. to lovingly convey color on the canvas and leave in each work a piece of the mood of his soul.
Participated in exhibitions: all-Union, republican, international (since 1955). Solo exhibitions in Ternopil (1982, 1986-1987, 1990, 2002, 2012), Zbarazh (1987) and Kremenets (1988). Some pictures are kept in the Ternopil Regional Museum and Art Museum of Ternopil. He lived and worked in Dnepropetrovsk and Ternopil (1946).
In his landscapes seemingly quite ordinary motifs permeated with light and woven from the rainbow generosity of colors. His lyrical landscapes prevail - now quietly contemplative, now dynamic, expressive, and with each new canvas changes the plasticity, enriches the texture of the painting, its color saturation, emotional impact.
At different times of the year Makarov V.V. fished on the sketches precious treasures, the fragments of ancient history of Ternopil region, which though not survived, but will forever remain on the canvases of the prominent Ukrainian painter.
Expressionism Makarov Viktor Vasilyevich skillfully displays the spirit of nature, which literally comes to life on his paintings - the leaves trembling on the trees, like a candle flame, a cheerful cloud, trapped in a frame, asking to fly, fresh spring leaves poured color from the sun kisses and wind, like a bow, plays the song of the forest. As many paintings, so much mood and joy to life.
