1) The right to receive 5% of the resale value of the original painting

This is called the right of succession and it is valid for the life of the author and 70 years after his death. Important point - the sale must be in Ukraine and must be conducted officially through an auction, gallery, salon, store, etc.

2) Proof of ownership

Consumers often think that after purchasing a painting, they may do what they want with it: post it on the Internet, use it for advertising, make merchandise (place a photo of the painting or its subject on t-shirts, blouses, bags, etc.). If a person illegally distributes copyrighted items on the Internet, the artist has the right to contact the owner of the website or web page where the work is posted to stop the infringement, adding a photo (scan) of the certificate.

5) Heirs will be able to inherit copyrighted works and receive remuneration and compensation.
